A two-bedroom in a doorman building in Chelsea that allows pets, with a private terrace, walk-in closets AND a soaking tub – within our price range. What?! Yes.. A place that included not only every must-have on our list, but every nice-to-have – along with some perks we didn’t even know were possible (brand new Viking appliances – seriously?). He found us several other places, as well, that covered all of our bases. And (!) he dealt with both of us – a couple moving in together for the first time – not an easy task…

BEN LISTENED TO ALL OF OUR MUST-HAVES, AND WAS VERY RESPONSIVE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD WITH ALL DETAILS

My roommate and I started our search early since we’d had terrible experiences in the past. After living in a dump for a year (never move into a magnum property!) we pretty much knew what we wanted. Ben listened to all of our must-haves, and was very responsive and straight forward with all details. We fell in love with a building downtown but couldn’t find the exact apt we were hoping for – we were the first to know as soon as any new units opened up and Ben came back to view the apts with us several times (often after typical hours or on a weekend to accommodate our schedule) until we found the right fit.

Ben always answers all phone calls emails and questions you might have. He even facilitated us seeing an apartment that belonged to a client he helped move into that building the year before because we weren’t sure how big the space would feel once a wall and furniture were in – that spoke volumes of his professionalism and relationships with clients!

This review is for Ben Scheck. I recently started my search in NYC and wanted a 2 bedroom for my roommate and I. We contacted Ben off an ad on http://renthop.com and he showed us the apartment we inquired about and others that were similar. From what a lot of my other friends have told me, brokers like to use fake pictures or post ads that don’t reflect accurate pricing, but Ben was truthful and upfront from the beginning about the ad we saw and the other places he wanted to show us. At no point did we feel like we were being upsold. Ben never put any pressure on us, but rather gave us all of the information and facts about the current market and each apartment we visitied. He let us ultimately make the decision to move to Tribeca instead of pushing us into an apartment we didn’t want. We will definitely use Ben again, and be referring our friends and family when we need anything real estate related in town. He’s a terrific broker and has the resources around him to get things done quickly and efficiently…he was well worth the fee we paid for our great apartment!
